::EFF2018 Official Announcement and Event Approval News::

The Earth Frequency Team is absolutely over the moon to announce the return of Earth Frequency Festival in 2018, with the dates of February 16-19 2018 set for our next edition.

We are very happy to make this announcement with further positive news that Ipswich City Council has issued the relevant permits for the festival at this early stage - 8 months in advance of the festival dates, and so EFF2018 will be starting off on firm footing. This level of support is a result of much hard work over the past few years and we are extremely happy to have this solid platform so early on to build the next edition of the festival.

Furthermore, we have some great news to add to this picture. After a 2 year process, Ivory's Rock has been successful in having it's development application approved - which provides Earth Frequency with planning approval for the forseeable future - this is not just a 2 year or 5 year approval, but a permanent level of planning approval that has been achieved for our festival for the long term.

This is a victory that has been hard won, as many of you know. Over the past 2 years, Earth Frequency has faced higher levels of scrutiny and especially in 2016 with some strict permit conditions. This process has also been at a time when all over Australia, outdoor music festivals are facing more attention and scrutiny from the media and regulatory authorities, with some of our much loved festivals around the country facing similar difficulties. It is no small feat in these times to be granted all the relevant permits for a 4 day outdoor music event for over 4000 people 8 months in advance. Over the past 2 years, there has also been a dedicated campaign from a small number of local residents against Ivory's Rock and Earth Frequency, and against this proposed long term approval. Despite all efforts to meet the concerns which have been raised with solutions, this has been an ongoing situation.

However after 2 years of discussions and consideration, Ipswich City Council has moved in favour of supporting Ivory's Rock and Earth Frequency and this is a very positive beginning for our next edition.

The future is looking bright for Earth Frequency and we can't wait to gather again with you all soon for 4 days of music, art and transformational culture.

Earth Frequency Festival is a music, arts, lifestyle and environmental festival. based in South-East Queensland, Australia. With a strong focus on arts, education, healing and community spirit, While drawing from many cultural niches such as transformational festival, tribal gathering, doof and boutique festival, the aim of Earth Frequency Festival is to go beyond these traditional tags and to exist as a multi-faceted gathering focused broadly on creativity, community, connection, intention and inspiration.

From it’s origins as a small landcare party in 2005, Earth Frequency has now become one of Australia's foremost transformational gatherings. At Earth Frequency, you can always expect an amazing mixture of live and electronic music, performance, visionary art, workshops and lectures, a family and kids space, and a fantastic food and markets area, and of course a positive community vibe. Our aim is to create nothing short of a life changing, transformative experience. We aim to provide a meeting place - people from many different backgrounds, ages and walks of life come together with the shared interests of music, nature, technology, culture, community and peace.

Earth Frequency Festival is held each year at Ivory's Rock Conventions and Events, Peak Crossing. Ivory's Rock is a beautiful outdoor venue with top notch facilities, comfortable campgrounds, and it is conveniently located under an hour from Brisbane and just 20 minutes from Ipswich. So, where is it?

Australia is world famous for kangaroos, beaches and the outback, the vast fabled desert that spreads into the country’s epic interior. Here, vivid blue skies, cinnamon-red earth, deserted gorges and geological features as bizarre as the wildlife comprise a unique ecology.

Australia is also home of the bush doofs. Generally held in a remote country area or just outside big cities in surrounding bush or rainforests and similar to raves or teknivals. Doofs generally have healing workshops, speakers, art, live artists and DJs playing a range of electronic music. The first commercial doof was Earthcore back in 1993. Then a couple of years later Rainbow serpent festival started. Still both going strong!

Getting there

All visitors - apart from citizens of New Zealand - require a visa in advance of travel. Australia is a long way from anywhere else in the world, so for most visitors, the only practical way of getting into Australia is by air. Approximately half of all international travellers arrive first in Australia in Sydney, the largest city, (IATA: SYD).

After Sydney, significant numbers of travellers also arrive in Australia in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. There are also direct international services into Adelaide, Cairns, Darwin, the Gold Coast and Christmas Island though these are largely restricted to flights from New Zealand, Oceania, or Southeast Asia.
